Was reflecting on personal thoughts, having gone through this once already during the fires. Agree it is about control but for me I know it was also very much realisation that you can be on your own. Fires very diff as infrastructure outages & physical isolation real possibility

Not an abstract musing for me so much as thinking about what we went through and that for some people it may be part of the thinking. Less so in the city I imagine, but there has been an erosion of public trust over the summer, I think. So, maybe we agree to disagree

I agree about the erosion of trust, I just don't think panic buying toilet paper is an expression of that so much - people aren't stocking up on water, fuel, etc, it's more about the next few weeks than the government's failings I think
