Worth noting that the bad experiences weren't always with the doctor per se. Sometimes there just was no good treatment for a condition, or the diagnosis wasn't what the person was looking for
I wonder why some cope cognitively with there being no great treatment, and others do not? Is CAM much more about a coping strategy? (People report doing their own research, but they often end up with scientifically wrong answers - so what do they mean by “research”?)
