However, something else to consider - current number of cases is ~80,000 If the growth in cases had remained exponential, we would've expected to see numbers in the millions by now So, some good news too

Interesting this says nothing about severity, not is severity part of official definitions, but WHO in press conf overnight did mention severity is a factor in declaring pandemic?

Apparently this is outdated anyway, but my understanding is that 'pandemic' is almost entirely about spread of disease and has very little to do with severity of the illness

WHO cautioned during the SARS outbreak their use of “pandemic” had no correlation to severity Nobody listened to them then, and the current global hysteria is much worse than then WHO has said they’re resisting announcing updates as the media uses them to fuel panic
