Basically, the study showed that people who eat large meals burn a few more calories If that large meal is breakfast, you burn a few more (potentially)

Even so, the differences weren't nearly as big as the headlines suggest, and realistically may not mean all that much

I should clarify - this will be the topic of a blog soon - that what I mean is that 'breakfast' is a somewhat meaningless term

In this study, volunteers ate an ENORMOUS meal (70% of caloric needs during the day) for 'breakfast' That's not really anything like what most people think of as breakfast

Moreover, what 'breakfast' means differs from person to person an enormous amount. When I was a shift worker, breakfast was usually pasta, because it was quick and easy to make at 4pm before I headed off for my 12 hour shift
