Yeeeees. It was never designed to be used on individuals. That's why when you calculate BMI and body fat percent together they are wildly different - even though they're supposed to be measuring the same thing.
Well, it may be an unfair mischaracterization, but it's an opinion I've only ever seen espoused by HAES people. And I'm not sure that's true? We all make decisions based on what we think is best for us long-term, BMI is one element of that
