It's an opinion (the original tweet) that I've only ever seen espoused by HAES people. I think we can all get behind reducing weight stigma - I don't think that means that BMI is useless

Yes but the post you RTed is from a dietitian. I’m making the point that your epidemiologist “predictive utility” is a different kettle of fish to a clinic patient facing practitioner.

Not sure I agree even in that sense. "BMI and everything it stands for are a detriment" doesn't leave much room for discussion of the relative pros and cons
