HUGE NEWS: "10 years after vaccination was introduced, we detected no HPV16/18 infections in 16-18 yearolds (0% of n=584)" HPV 16/18 cause ~70% of cervical cancer That's an ~amazing~ result https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/858872/hpr0220_HPV_2018.pdf …pic.twitter.com/zsYtqdGECp

What about the recent analysis published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine that "found insufficient data to clearly conclude that HPV vaccine prevents the higher-grade abnormal cell changes that can eventually develop into cervical cancer"?https://eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2020-01/s-dra012120.php …

The new study is complaining studies didn't answer questions that they weren't designed for. There's strong relevant information about population effects now.

Yes it's an interesting argument. Based on Australian data from 2019, rates of high-grade abnormalities have dropped precipitously in the youngest women since vaccination was introduced, while rates among older women have remained steadypic.twitter.com/wvGGA0H2n2

(For reference, when this data was gathered the vaccine was a decade old, so the 25-29 year olds would've been the oldest group to receive any vaccines)
