I think there are certainly such situations e.g. using 'fair' dice to allocate people to groups
But w/o concealment, the groups can be changed, at least in theory. Thus *risk* of selection bias is still there. (if I am understanding you)
I'm not sure I understand. In this scenario, you'd roll dice to determine allocation. No one knows before the dice roll which group a person is going into, therefore allocation is concealed insofar as selection is concerned, no?
