In this wonky thread I question the idea that protein is proven to be more satiating. I've spent a whole lot of time with the evidence (isocaloric pre-loads and subsequent intake, success of low-carb vs. low-fat diets, etc) and I don't see it. The original work for protein being a primary driver of satiety is in locusts, I believe. And flies. Steve Simpson's work beginning in the mid 80s. I think this is very well researched. On my phone, can get refs later.

I do remember that human evidence for satiety with a variety of diets is equivocal. I looked into it for IF and LCHF and in both cases the general trend is that there's not much of a difference from memory
