I understand that some plants are toxic to cats but don't understand why cats are eating those plants. Failing at carnivory. Wondering who determined which plants are safe or toxic to cats.

In terms of how they get exposed, I think often it's through cleaning behaviors. For example, cats get lily pollen on their fur, which they lick off, and which also causes renal failure
