Fair enough. It gets old, though, continually hearing low-carb, keto, & IF critics trotting out the “magic” criticism. These diets work for many who have failed w/ all other efforts. I’ve yet to hear any of the docs who recommend these diets credit “magic” for the effectiveness

I mean, it's a colloquialism, obviously I don't think there's actual magic involved. I do find it a bit tiresome watching people stretch to ever more tangential explanations of weight loss in diets that result in caloric deficit though
