        Update: asked genetics PhD friend & she mentioned perhaps it’s not that scandalous. Presumably discourages racism bc it increases genetic diversity & some small countries (eg Iceland) and communities (eg Ashkenazi Jewish) have geneology & sometimes genetic matching. Thoughts?

        What if your health minister announces every baby's DNA will be sequenced, and then you find out the government is handing over all health data 'anonymised' to Amazon? This is not the plot of some dystopian novel.

        More and more I think this is a scicomm issue. We need to stop telling people that science is a pure and magic process that's figured everything out. It's no wonder everyone thinks Gattaca is a documentary.
