Really? I did not know that. Any references?

I’m amazed how many people don’t believe that a net energy deficit leads to hunger.

Does this apply to all forms of exercise? I always believed that ideally the following steps had to be followed: gentle warm up, stretch, exercise of choice, cool down if exercise was high impact/aerobic, stretch. Same for gym but minus the cool down. Happy to be corrected!

You should be warming up actively... gentle walk/jog/cycle... what ever is appropriate for that athlete, then dynamic stretching... no static stretches. You can use static for cool down if you like but they aren’t reducing injury risk

I’ve been saying this for years. To my findings, there has never been a peer reviewed study showing any benefit to stretching. Rather the benefit is in warming up. On the other hand, there are numerous cases in the literature about injuries caused by stretching. So don’t stretch!

Top tip indeed. But here's the problem with sports science: during my degree study (2013-17) we still got taught to stretch as part of a warm up. The 'experts' get this wrong all the time. Don't trust scientist, trust science.
