A number of tests for ppl over 70 have been taken off Medicare. Eg. Bone density scans, colonoscopies. They’re losing access to diagnostic processes & adequate healthcare. Just had a read of the MBS items and that's not true. They've extended the time between screening colonoscopies to 5 years for people at moderate risk, but otherwise you can have as many colonoscopies as clinically indicated it appears

Interesting. Seems like a different issue though, MRIs aren't used for the same routine screening as colonoscopies usually, and the requirement to see a specialist sounds reasonable
