Eh? I'm not - you're arguing that men intentionally denied women vital nutrients through veganism starting in the early 1900s, I'm saying it's unlikely that any of this had any relation to nutrition at all because our understanding is much more recent than that

There would certainly be a wide awareness of protein and its relation to strength. Whole proteins like meat were classed as "building" foods (other food groups were "protective" foods - veges, organ meats, fruit - and "energy" foods like fat, sugar, and starch)
