The absorption argument is weak in my mind because of the half life. Assuming someone has been on the drug awhile missing a dose would mean the end of the world here.

I think it just depends on the drug and condition. Higher absorption doesn't always equal meaningful differences in outcomes, whether beneficial or adverse, and there's really not many crossover trials that are comparing different times to see the impact on relevant outcomes
