is this was reignited the chromotherapy discuss yesterday? It seems like a deliberate effort is being made to obfuscate whether this is actually an RCThttps://twitter.com/ESC_Journals/status/1186934294347964416 …

Ricky Turgeon PharmD added,
They do say randomized, but I didn’t find method of randomization anywhere in text
The table 1 is impressive toopic.twitter.com/sj4kl27p6S
There are a few things from this trial that I still don't quite understand. (1) If the results are to be believed, how was this trial not stopped much earlier? Was there no safety monitoring committee? The HRs are astounding & the 95%CIs incredibly narrow. 1/
2/ (2) Where are the unadjusted HRs & per-group event rates? I can only eyeball some of the endpoint rates from the Kaplan Meier curves, but shouldn't need to. How many people in each group died? How many people in each group had a "hard" CV endpoint?
3/
(3) On the note of adjusting HRs, I'm unclear on the appropriateness of the methods here: variables weren't selected a priori but by stepwise selection. This concern would easily be assuaged if unadjusted HRs were also presented. (I wonder if @ADAlthousePhD has thoughts?)pic.twitter.com/9Qp48mTOEv
Briefly discussed this elsewhere, will try to concentrate my thoughts here now that I realize that this is the same trial being discussed on that other thread @S_brimble and @hswapnil tagged me into...
1) On whether this was a "randomized" trial. The word randomized is used once, and there is an NCT number (https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00741585 …) which says it was randomized, but the paper is light on details, though this could just be poor reporting...
They do also reference the "assigned" treatment a few times, which implies at least an interventional study
