I don't want to get into a discussion on this, but it's pretty obvious that psychological problems do have physical effects. Not to mention disproportionate suicide numbers which perhaps correlate to our current treatment (rejection) of these people.

Because it's an obvious false equivalence. Let's turn that on its head - if there was decent evidence that you could prevent self-harm and suicide with a simple, reversible course of hormonal therapy, or even a less reversible surgery, why would you not do it?

There are obviously side-effects as with any other medication. I never claimed there weren't. It's not an argument against using them and more than it is for most other medications

Suicide is a permanent condition, and mental health problems are significantly life-limiting. It's a terrible argument
