Potentially, but honestly I think it's a bit impractical. The test was a 2-hour cycle with either carb gels or potato every 15 minutes - in total, the cyclists ate either 1040 grams of potato or 184 grams of gel

Could be a good addition to a training regime I guess - add the weight of your potatoes and you'll train harder!
