Police are being investigated over unlawfully asking a 16-year-old girl to strip naked and squat at last year’s Splendour in the Grass, without someone present. Legally, her parents, a guardian or someone else of her choice should've been called to be there while it happened.

Hearing evidence the officer looked underneath this teenager when she was naked to inspect her "vagina and anus" for drugs. When police chief inspector is asked if it's justified to do that to a child, he says he "doesn't know. Says many people conceal drugs in their "cavities".

At Splendour in the Grass 2018 there were: - 512 people searches - 143 of them were strip searches - 30 young people were searched - 7 of them were strip searched - 24% of the general searches found something - 8.4% of the strip searches found something

Would be interesting to know the number of "alerts" drug dogs had. Might be a subsection of people who admit to drugs without being searched after the dog alerts, which would make the figures less shocking
