Lots of people in the US proposing ways to reduce police shootings, here's my suggestion: get rid of the guns
Australia, with much more stringent gun legislation, has a rate of police shootings 1/12th that of the US

In absolute terms, we have about 6 police shootings a year, in a population of just under 25 million With a similar population, Texas sees about 80 shootings by police per year

If every Australian (25.6M) came to the US and carried away 15.9 of our 393M firearms, we'd have her done and dusted. Be sure to leave some space in your carry-on.pic.twitter.com/BANAOr0P8Y

Oh, it's a massive problem no doubt. But I honestly doubt that you can reduce police shootings without first reducing the risk of being shot

Lol I love propaganda like that. Even in 96, Australia had lower violent crime rates than the US - now we're about a quarter overall I think
