Went back to SPSS for an old study where we did the analysis using it and all I can think is "WHY DID THEY TEACH THIS TO US IN UNIVERSITY"

The advanced stats classes taught SAS, which was just cruel after SPSS

Going from SPSS to Stata/R: "Everything is SO EASY. I just type three letters and everything runs? I'm never going back!" Going from SPSS to SAS: "This is pretty cool" *500 missed semi-colons later* "Fuck this I'm going back to SPSS"

Nope. Does it have the same reliance on semi-colons?

None. It writes the code for you and then you can copy and paste. But I'm fairly new to this world. It is extremely intuitive though.

That's definitely better, but I like being able to write and manipulate the code myself. Stata is great for that (and also cheaper than SAS)

I'm still new to code-writing. I use tasks in SAS to get the basic syntax and then alter the code from there. It's not my forte.

It wasn't my forte until I switched to Stata either! That's one of the things I really like about the program - it makes using code really easy, so there's more incentive to write it all yourself

Nah it's pretty good. Not as smooth as R, and not as many options, but the coding is pretty easy and the graph editor is quite nice to use
