MYTH: curing people is ~amazing~ for business, companies can charge literally anything for curative therapies and people will consider it a bargain
FACT: there are very few (any?) cures, and many people on multiple meds for life. #KaChing #FollowTheMoney https://twitter.com/GidMK/status/1178802703352250368 …
Nonsense. Some of the biggest selling drugs of all time have been targeted medications that cure hepatitis, for example

And .... We can always find an example, can't we? But that wasn't your goal when you started the MYTH/FACT theme on my tweet, was it?

Eh? There are dozens of examples. Curing diabetes, for example, would be a license to print money

I'm no expert in this area but I know these drugs have revolutionized care of hepatitis C for the better; however, the business model isn't working out well for pharma from my understanding. Interesting perspective here:https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2018-11-27/gilead-s-cures-for-hepatitis-c-were-not-a-great-business-model …

I mean, not sure I agree that the business model isn't working when they made more than $50 billion from a single curative agent!
