Well, it's tough to prove a negative, but given that humans have been adapted to eating red meat for a very long time, the null hypothesis should be that it is not harmful. That's my prior. It will take some really strong evidence with strong effect sizes for me to doubt it.

Nahhh bad argument. Humans have adapted to be consummate omnivores, doesn't mean that there aren't some risks to certain foodstuffs especially eaten in a modern context

Which is exactly what would happen if red meat has no negative impact on health: no good evidence of such impact. I mean this has been studied exhaustively for decades. How long does it take, if there's supposedly an impact, to show it with evidence?
