I talk about lifestyle with patients ALL THE TIME. I also try my best to address the social issues that frequently make diet and stress challenging for patients to change. Don't blame me for "us vs. them" rhetoric when I'm simply reacting to lies and propaganda about what I do.

When you think about it, almost all dietary advice in the public domain is purely the creation of marketing departments and boards.......kale, kombucha, gluten free, etc etc

We need high-quality, clinically relevant trials to guide our recommendations to patients. The burden of proof is on those claiming supplements have efficacy in those without specific/narrow deficiencies. I am not aware of any such evidence to support the claim of benefit.

This got me thinking about how people will ignore the foods with excellent evidence of benefits (e.g. sardines, oats) and instead consume the latest fad foods with very dubious evidence of benefits.
