I vaguely recall a 10 year old Ontario cost comparison of vaginal birth vs c-section, and they were almost the same, (surprised researchers too) approx $10,500 per birth. That included 2 days of hospital stay, epidural, baby care, etc. That was averaged over the province though

Had a look at the stats for Australia and it looks like our costs were $3,755 AUD for an uncomplicated vaginal delivery in 2013 as per @aihw
