The reason we developed experimental methods is because you can’t just look at what happened and say what caused it. That’s *the problem* we addressed with experiments. So it’s bizarre that people push ‘real world’ studies as an improvement over RCTs.

So much yes! Real world experiments can be valuable in many ways but they aren't somehow less biased simply because they are less controlled it's a contradictory idea
