But we should never forget all the crackpot and harmful treatments done in the name of traditional medicine, especially when it came to the treatment of women. Some of the cures of hysteria blow my mind especially when I see them pop up in wellness circles - like vaginal steaming

Hmm there's a lot to unpack there. The framing of a lot of stuff seems very odd - for example, the pain clinic they talk about at the beginning says its main aim is to help kids regain function, not reduce pain per se

Also, the female doctor that ran the program has actually published a study showing no reduction in pain from her program which is an interesting thing to miss out on in the podcast

Happy to! The other thing that irked me was the framing of the pain program - according to the website, it's not about causing pain at all, per se, more about learning to cope with pain. They do music therapy, psychotherapy, diet, it's a complex intervention
