To be honest, the main reason those didn't make it into the blog is that they're much sneakier, and thus less funny. Coke, for example, funds a lot of studies showing that the only way to lose weight is to exercise

I spoke to a researcher behind a pasta study (not this one) and he said usually they come up with their study idea, then ask food makers if they'll provide free food. He said they often say yes, but getting cash is harder

Yeh I think it's really a spectrum. I tried to choose the most absurd examples for the blog - the cheese study, for example, was basically an opinion piece so I can't see how industry funding was necessary - but sometimes it's much less worrisome
