No evidence can mean a lot of things
For some of these ingredients, systematic review evidence has failed to find any benefit
For others, the studies just have not been done at all
This one's based on scientific evidence That sounds promisingpic.twitter.com/oejc81seRZ
This is a lovely example of what some people call weasel words Try to pick out a specific claim here - it's almost impossiblepic.twitter.com/pRHUvS5Ehd
"Help relieve symptoms of the common cold" Well since it's a hot drink it probably will You know what else can do that (with the same ingredients) for half the price A CUP OF HERBAL TEA!
But what we can say is that a number of large well convicted trials have failed to find any benefit for Echinacea for treating colds Rose hips and hibiscus have not really been studied for this application much at all
If you put "based on scientific evidence" on a product, you should have to link to the goddam studiespic.twitter.com/4q8Nk1Gdf0
+ Placebo Effect.
I'm all for calling out pseudoscience, but valerian has been much used for insomnia, and the available evidence is conflicting/insufficient, rather than 'no evidence'. Could reserve judgement on this. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/22863505 … https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/28674253 … https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/17486686 …
And with licorice, the studies& evidence are a little bit clearer. I present 2 sample papers here on the subject:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/29214227 …
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/23975867 …
I feel it isn't right to casually dismiss things as 'no evidence' because people aren't going to go look for it.
