Today a science journalist reached out to me to express their frustration that epidemiologists are often not quoted in science news because many journalists have never heard of epi.

I think anything that raises your media profile is helpful, but particularly things that give you some experience in public communication. Starting a blog, vlog, podcast etc, or even just appearing on friends' episodes
