      Ketogenic diets interest me- I’ve read a lot about adverse cvd risk and it would seem incredibly bad from that perspective. That said if you have epilepsy or similar neurological disease, keto diets have great evidence for symptom reduction and disease control.

      Yep, but there is certainly evidence that keto improves a bunch of biomarkers (HbA1c, blood pressure etc) as much as any calorie deficit would. Not much long-term research on cardiovascular risk tho

      I will try as root some stuff I found on the cvd risk for you- I’m fairly sure I found some pretty ominous studies. I wrote an article a long time ago on it. I would need to do a good root through my old laptop, which I don’t have with me right now. :) but thé neuro studies were

      Fascinating. And I agree the difference between keto and other diets in terms of short term benefits is minisicule. also as with most diets people put the weight back on. I worry about the long term effects of keto. Dr Atkins died with heart disease and the principles are similar

      I think the really interesting question is whether the benefits from weightloss from a ketogenic diet would outweight the additional risks
