There's also some evidence that, in the context of weightloss, keto diets can help prevent feelings of hunger This is actually not the same as saying that keto makes you feel "more full"

Here's the 12-month results from a recent systematic review and meta-analysis comparing low carb (<26% energy) and/or moderate carb (26-44% energy) with high carb diets for HbA1c in people with diabetes No difference at allpic.twitter.com/w5paWUfvJr

That being said, there IS some evidence that ketogenic diets prevent increased appetite while people are losing weight, although how long this lasts is quite hard to say https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/obr.12230 …pic.twitter.com/Uv9xBcvKtm

Ketogenic diets interest me- I’ve read a lot about adverse cvd risk and it would seem incredibly bad from that perspective. That said if you have epilepsy or similar neurological disease, keto diets have great evidence for symptom reduction and disease control.

Yep, but there is certainly evidence that keto improves a bunch of biomarkers (HbA1c, blood pressure etc) as much as any calorie deficit would. Not much long-term research on cardiovascular risk tho

Nice. Thanks for sharing. I was surprised to see ketogenic diets kind of explode bc I had only really seen them recommended for children with intractable epilepsy
