It can actually give you quite nasty food poisoning - I think it usually grows B.cereus (my fave bug "be serious" LOL. I wouldn't eat rice older than a few days even if kept refrigerated,

"Fried rice food poisoning" is from Bacillus cereus spores. Not killed by cooking, may be encouraged to germinate by the frying process, potentially can cause disease even if its been kept in the fridge
