Not my area of expertise, but I believe there are any number of trials demonstrating the benefits of F&V. Not sure I understand what you mean by *in the context of low-carb*, do you think the physiologic mechanisms would be different somehow?

I have examined the F&V literature fairly deeply and it's surpringly poorly supported. For example, when there is an effect it's often inseparable from their replacing refined carbs. Unclear that would translate.
