Disagree. The science is mostly ok, the conclusions are a bit off if anything. It's the communication that's failed
I read the original paper and think it is quite good. (They even adjusted for small area sampling.) The finding for solvents need to be replicated in a bigger study - the authors themselves suggest that in the paper. https://oem.bmj.com/content/early/2019/06/03/oemed-2018-105395 …
Pretty much, although I'd argue that their discussion should've talked a lot more about how their study conflicted with existing literature and/or demonstrated no effects for most exposures and only very marginal ones for solvents
True. I also missed the discussion on confounding between job, education and diagnosis decision. Also, ASD yes/no as the LHS censored most of the information available, given that ASD is a broad concept and not a dichotomy
I think any ASD is a defensible choice, but yes several limitations that weren't well explored that may reduce the impact of the results significantly
