I always find these stories silly. Energy drinks are mostly just caffeine+sugar+herbs, they're not some mystical energy formulation The main difference between a red bull and an espresso is that a red bull has ~9 teaspoons of sugar per 250ml serve!

Also, I honestly think that the manufacturers welcome these stories. No better way to make sweetened caffeine water seem magically more effective than implying it's dangerous enough to be banned
