Two big take-homes from this blog: 1. Most media stories use only relative risk, and this is a big problem 2. Journalists should be reporting both, because they are both important

I’m a HUGE proponent of absolute risk & frequently teach that in talks I give. That said, I‘ll add it’s sometimes remarkably difficult to find/give absolute risks & sometimes absolute risks can also be misleading if they require adjustment that can only be done w RR, HR, OR, etc

Oh absolutely true. I find it incredibly frustrating when studies don't give the actual figures and/or crude risks
