Well, the official figure for Chernobyl deaths as of 2016 is about 300, including from thyroid cancer and leukemia. If we instead take a much higher estimate the figure could be as high as 15,000, although that's very disputable

Australia is also under the ozone hole. Melanoma (skin cancer from sun UV damage) is the reason for that statistic re: cancer numbers.
