The reporting on this study is so hilariously broken No, getting less sleep won't cause teens to have unsafe sex This is pretty much entirely wronghttps://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9212462/bad-nights-sleep-increase-risk-stis/ …
It looks like kids who slept a lot on weekends were at lower risks of risky sexual behaviours than kids who slept a moderate or low amount

But the kids who slept a lot on weekends were in the minority! So what these results really mean is that kids who get more sleep on weekends protect themselves from risky sex (maybe because they're asleep instead of...other things)pic.twitter.com/IZdPhTaDdD

And remember, this is entirely observational research. AT BEST we can say that there's an observed association between some measurements of sleep and sexual behaviours and sleep That's about it

And the headline at the start of this thread was wrong in basically every way, so there's that too

May it be that they got less sleep because of those same sexual behaviours? Because I don´t know, on the nights I hook up with someone new and hot, chances are I won´t sleep much.
