Nothing good seems to happen with prolonged liquid fructose (amount>40g day?) consumption - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22205311/ … https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23512506 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22933433

There's an important distinction to be made between sucrose/fructose from foods vs drinks; plus of course just because excess might be negative does not meet fructose is "bad". This is a though-provoking paper and well-conceived meta-analysis:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22354959
