"reversal of diagnosis" Yes, if you start eating junk food again, disease will return. But these people are living free of T2 diabetes. >50% of them.

Why is this so hard for ideological people to understand ? This knife is cutting me, remove knife, and doctor says well you still would be cut if that knife was here!

great analogy. Or: yr suffering from mold. Remove mold. Symptoms gone. Bring back mold, symptoms come back. Who wants to live with T2 diabetes, pills and injections and threat of limb amputation? Raise your hand. Compared to that, shifting to low-carb diet not so hard.

The real problem is that doctors don’t correctly identify the modern crap food and the modern crap lifestyle as the problem but somehow blame the pancreas... Osler is rolling in his grave!

I agree, most docs don’t address the toxic, environmental contributions of T2DM. But, that doesn’t mean we should neglect the genetics either.

Genetics not a sig. factor in T2 diabetes.

That's not true. The discussion is, I think, more about heritability than genetics per se. T2DM is highly heritable, but this influence is mediated a lot by the environment

So someone with a high genetic risk of T2DM may be able to reduce that a lot by changing their lifestyle/environment, but they are still more likely to become diabetic in their lifetime

Also worth noting that the single biggest predictor of diabetes - even more than obesity - remains age. Even in incredibly high-risk populations, it's very rare to see high rates of T2DM before 40 years
