I've been looking at campaign ads literally every day and I can say that the Coalition have campaigned heavily on lies (car tax, retiree tax, death tax, etc). Labor campaigned on hospital/education cuts, which are arguable but not straight out lie.

The Coalition have also done a deal with UAP, whose campaign ads have very little connection to reality. This is not a good thing!

truth in advertising laws are probably unworkable, but I don't think the status quo is particularly good for our democracy either tbh

I don't know that either major party really care about this enough to do anything about it either, as they have both benefited at various points in time
