My take on all the "coffee is good for you but 6 cups a day is bad!" headlines: This is all a bit silly and may well be wrongpic.twitter.com/mlyeNKBaFh

There are now at least a half-dozen large epidemiological studies looking at the positive and negative effects of caffeine, most of them entirely contradictory
In fact, there was a study less than a year ago on THE SAME GROUP OF PATIENTS that found that up to 8 cups of coffee per day was PROTECTIVE Pretty much the opposite of this newest studypic.twitter.com/VS4HkwIVMg
In my opinion, the relationship between coffee, lifestyle, and specific health events is pretty complex, but what we do know is that any risks are likely to be very small. Same with any benefitspic.twitter.com/NhOtUBrQQU
So drink coffee if you like the taste, or because it stops you from murdering people at 7am on the train, but not because it's good for you And if you are an otherwise healthy adult it seems like there aren't many health risks either
Also, shout-out to @miadegraaf for a fab article that actually puts the pertinent health information right up there at the start https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-7016703/Coffee-NOT-bad-heart-drink-fewer-6-day.html …
