Does Australia do democracy well? When the voter cannot choose their preferred candidate thanks to being forced out after dirt digging by their opponent, you don’t give the voter the right to have a democratic vote - the decision was made by someone else.

You can't vote for someone who isn't standing in an election, that's not a critique of democracy

They are standing in an election - their names are still on the ballot paper for next weekend. That means people will vote for them which in effect is a spoiled ballot paper.
