Re shift workers, surely the opposite is true? They have a much higher chance of being at work at the weekend than “9-5” workers, so weekday voting should equalise propensity to vote between shift and non-shift workers, no?

TBH they are generally disadvantaged regardless of the specific day, to get shift workers pre-polls and postal voting are more important imo

Postal voting in the UK is complication. You have to apply by post....well in advance...and then the pack they send out is as clear as mud. Not very inclusive.
