How much longer? Has that been quantified in human trials? Has this effect been demonstrated in humans at all? Is it specific to those foods and why?

It has been demonstrated for omega 3/6 ratio in humans.

but that's skin cancer outcomes right, not time to burn? and I didn't that data was that consistent anyway?

As far as I can tell, there are a few epi studies with possible suggestive results, and a bunch of rodent studies that say different things. Also, they almost all focus on supplementation of omega 3, so I'm not sure what this has to do with the original point

In the animal studies, omega 3 has the same effect as saturated fat or no omega 6. Clinically, insulin resistance impedes skin repair. So we are probably talking about the mixed effect of a complex protocol like Dr Unwin's on skin and immunity, and not a single metabolic factor.

It's interesting that zero carb carnivores with very low tocopherol and carotene intakes report the same effect - that helps us rule out some likely confounders in the Unwin protocol (which is only "complex" in sense of the raft of changes involved, not in its advice!)

Is it though? A group of people reporting changes after a celebrity in the area suggests it's possible seems like a situation rife for confirmation bias and almost impossible to ascertain the truth to me

You're new here, aren't you? We've been reporting this observation individually, for heat burns as well as sunburn, long before Dr Unwin became a "celebrity". See

He's not new. He's a troll. Who thankfully blocked me after our last interaction.

If Health Nerd blocked Tucker, that explains why he now finds himself as innocent as a new born baby in this conversation.

From memory Tucker blocked me first, but I believe he called me a shill or something of the sort so I returned the favor
