One thing I think a lot of people get confused by is what scientists mean when they say "new evidence could absolutely change my position" Often, people think this means one study, and get upset when they're told one study changes nothing

For example, take homeopathy We have ~centuries~ of evidence that homeopathy is useless medically It would take something ENORMOUS, literally hundreds of studies, to change that

Most of the time, if something has been studied before, a single study will only have an impact if it is very big and rigorous Otherwise, it might not mean all that much
