Makes a reasonable point about experiences that lead to those beliefs. & empathy is important. But I don't think it's the solution in those who are flat earthers & anti-vaxxers because they're conspiracy theorists. Distinction you draw between vaccine hesitancy & anti-vax is key.

Yeah that's where I find the disconnect. Die-hard conspiracists take empathy and exploit it for clicks, which makes it hard to reach out. Worried parents need empathy to persuade them

Not even exploit it sometimes. Just don't relate to it. Cos they are righteous, why would they need empathy? That empathy might just be patronising.
