Were these men shaking hands in the dark? Generally, if I want to know of someone is carrying a sword about their person, I, well, not to put to fine a point on it, look. It’s almost like ritual and custom change over time to develop different meanings and significance.

there aren't sufficient eye-roll emojis in the universe. Mind you, if wife is anything like me...and left-handed, she'll also take him by surprise just when he thinks her sword hand is empty...

I'll just leave this here and let any other manly men research for themselves why my handshake is as strong as theirs. I might even offer to arm wrestle if they can stop sniffing their own PR long enough to find a few more... there are several. https://allthatsinteresting.com/women-warriors

Additionally, children 'worthy' of a handshake by these standards http://www.historywiz.com/didyouknow/spartanfamily.htm … https://www.ancient-origins.net/history-ancient-traditions/how-viking-children-learned-art-war-009445 … http://medievalcastles.stormthecastle.com/essays/how-a-boy-became-a-knight-in-medieval-times.htm … But in the end it's kind of about respect and equality. How about we just not be asshats to each other playing at superiority!
